She learned to scrape by, foraging for food and riding subways all night to have a warm place to sleep. At age fifteen, Liz found herself on the streets when her family finally unraveled. In school she was taunted for her dirty clothing and lice-infested hair, eventually skipping so many classes that she was put into a girls’ home. ![]() Liz Murray was born to loving but drug-addicted parents in the Bronx. ![]() ![]() Marriage was the only way to ensure that the families wouldn’t retaliate against one another. ![]() Each family would offer up one of their daughters as a sacrifice to their enemies. Should this attempt fail, then their annihilation was all but inevitable. ![]() As the leaders of the most influential crime families in the world, they recognized that a cease-fire was the only way to guarantee their endurance. In the most unlikely scenarios, six families came together in an undisclosed location to negotiate a peace treaty. Soldiers, kin, and innocent lives were lost on all sides, and the inevitable extinction of the Mafioso way of life was fast approaching. From both sides of the globe, blood was spilled in the name of honor, while the brutal carnage each family bestowed upon the other was anything but noble. Through recent decades, in the midst of civil evolution, an ancient war was being fought. However, the same cannot be said when dealing with their enemies. These are the codes of conduct of every mafia family. None hold this way of life more sacred than made men. Creating chaos and bloodshed is preferable to being subjected to vapid dialogues of peaceful negotiation. The thirst for vengeance and retribution has always prevailed over turning the other cheek to one’s enemies. Since the dawn of time, waging war on those who have wronged us has been embedded in the very fiber of mankind’s true nature. ![]() ![]() ![]() Overall: A fairly solid sequel, but it’s not extraordinary. That said, the characters are still relatively weak and not very interesting. I won’t say much more since that’d be spoiler territory, but this volume does end in a pretty surprising way.Ĭharacters: We get to meet a few new characters, but my favorite is Orielle. So, you can imagine the poop storms he has had to deal with recently. ![]() ![]() Still it picks up almost immediately after the ending of the first volume and covers some major revelations that Alex and his party have to overcome in order to succeed. Alexs life was fairly simple, work during the day and enjoy some sweet RPGs by night. His day job is as a VP for a network security company (not a small one). This volume of “Growth Hero” still isn’t a great story, but it isn’t terrible either. Plot: The plot is a bit better in this entry, mainly because the main character Alex Augere isn’t constantly comparing things to games and novels from his past like in the first entry. It tried to be mindfu**ing, but the realization was poor. Some seem to see some kind of deeper philosophical meaning in this one, especially towards the end with something one could call a subtle plot twist, but to me, it was a too constructed, not well designed novel. I still remember how boredom and disappointment grew, after the first few chapters showed the setting and some suspense was built up and then it got lengthy and neither the psychological inner character plot nor the other big mystery plot made much fun or sense, especially because the logic of motivations and thinking capacities and abilities of the protagonists were… average. Very much yada yada, humanities vs natural sciences and a wasted plot idea with far too less action and twists. ![]() ![]() ![]() From the first time he hears her voice, he is addicted to her, and try as he might to stay faithful to his religion, temptation wins, and so ensues an erotic journey between a priest and a woman who is temptation personified. Twenty-nine year old Tyler Bell is a good priest who is faithful to his God and church – that is, until Poppy Danforth walks into his church one day and changes everything for him. I love taboo stories, and Priest was spot-on in its yummy taboo-ness. I knelt down behind her and spread her legs, spread them so that her cunt was gloriously bared to me. (If you are sensitive about this topic, I highly recommend you turn away from this book.) I’ve read so much that it’s hard for a book to make me blush… but this one, this one set me on fire. It’s taboo to the max – a priest who breaks his vows of celibacy… and is kinky as hell. I’m nearly ashamed of how much I loved the dirtiness of this book. As an erotica, this book would be 10/5 for me – it’s seriously that hot, dirty, and raunchy. This book… was seriously dirrrrty!!! I mean, I was totally wanting expecting it, but I had no idea what I’d be in for. Six months ago, I broke my vow of celibacy on the altar of my own church, and God help me, I would do it again.
